Interview with Jamie Alimorad - @JamieAlimorad

Here is a little information on what Jamie is up to:  I just wrapped a big promo tour that was out West.  I formed a new band of some of LA's top session players and we did the whole circuit.  Lots of the Sunset Strip venues including the Whiskey and the Roxy.  I also headlined at the Troubadour, the Good Hurt and was a marquis performer at the first Indie Entertainment Summit.  I also had the tremendous opportunity to work with Grammy-nominated and Juno Award winning artist Gino Vannelli in his studio.  We got together again at his shows in Niagara Falls this past weekend.  He's an awesome artist and the best singer in the world, not to mention the most incredible songwriter I think we've ever seen.

I would say there is no one HQ for me.  I'm widely considered a Boston artist because that's where I got my start in college, but my business base is in LA.

As far as a current tour goes, we're working on some dates.  We're focusing on new and creative ways to advertise the album and get my name out there.  Should be fun!

The latest release is Words Left Unsaid, which features the number one singles "Dancing With You", Indie104 Top 100 #1 hit, and "That's What She Said", #1 for a record five consecutive weeks on the IMC ReverbNation chart.

I sang background vocals on Rick Springfield's new single "I Hate Myself".

Interview with Simplified - @Simplified_Band

In this edition of Road Trip, we interview the multi-award winning and very tour experienced, Simplified. With independently produced and other projects ranging  the years 2004-2012 and touring and gigging in venues from clubs and festivals like SunFest to NASCAR Rev’d Up in 2009. In fact, in just eight years since the band's inception, Simplified has not only performed more than 2,500 shows, but they have also earned the respect of such renown artists as O.A.R., whose saxophone player Jerry Depizzo produced their latest album. But don't be fooled. Simplified's journey hasn't always been an easy one. The band has done everything – from the writing, recording and even the distribution of their four albums - completely on their own.

Interview with Barley Station @BarleyStation

BARLEY STATION is one of those rare double-fronted bands whose music combines the roots of Americana, Pop/Rock, Country, and Folk and puts them in a blender with a dash of amaretto pouring out a tasty glass of contagious sound! The result is a distinctly alternative blend that draws deeply from its roots yet looks forward and to the future.

Spaceship Days e-Interview @spaceshipdays

I think the first time I ever heard Spaceship Days was on Butterflies Radio and it was "Hanging From the Satellites" and the next day I heard more of the tracks from the CD. I loved them and decided to buy 5 of them to share! ~ Walt

The pop-rock outfit—Matt Mocharnuk (Vocals/Lyrics), Chuck Cox (bass) , Greg Torsone (guitars), and Rob Beeghly (drums) —has been receiving attention for their 2nd album, Black Holes and Butterflies recorded at Afterglow Studio. What do passion, MTV and Craigslist all have in common? These factors all led to the formation and growth of NYC indie rock band, The Assembly Line. Interview: The Koniac Net - @thekoniacnet

On the early morning of April 17, 2012, David Abraham joined our Facebook group submitting to ride the Indie Music Bus™ and wrote this intro: "Hello all, I am an Indie/Alternative artist out of India (yup, that country all the way to the East). Below are the links to my debut album "One Last Monsoon" which I have released under the artist appellation THE KONIAC NET " I was pleasantly surprised by the music and songwriter. The first thing that hit me though was the album artwork, it was beautiful and caught my eye right away. Song after song I liked and told him so in the group. Many fine things have happened since then and we are glad The Koniac Net is aboard the bus! Enjoy our interview with David Abraham conducted by Ced of Independent Music and Media.

Our Interview with Volary - @volarymusic

Currently Volary consists of myself (singer/songwriter/guitar) and Sam Mollica (best bass player ever :) We've been looking for a permanent drummer and/or percussionist for the longest time, so if anyone in the Bay Area is interested, please contact us!

"My debut album, 'Out of Shadows,' was recorded by myself and a lot of session musicians before I met Sam. I was adamant that I didn't want to make a typical singer/songwriter album (very sparse instrumentation, big close-up of my face on the cover), nor did I want to make a typical rock band sounding album (electric guitar, bass, and drums), and I'm really happy with what we achieved. I wanted a distinctive sound, for the album to be cohesive despite the very different flavors of some of the songs, and for it to feel like you'd entered a world of its own. It's very different when played live, of course, since we don't often travel with string trios and horn sections in our back pockets, so come on out and see us if you can! "

We were talking with Volary and she told us that she was reviewed by Music Scene Investigation and seeing how we are partners with them, we figured that would be a good start to this interview.

Interview with Mike Grosshandler @mgrosshandler

It is beginning to look like we will only need Twitter and friends like @allindie to find great talent like Mike Grosshandler. The first time we heard Mike was on Butterflies Radio's Twitter Tuesday Live. The song "Status Quo" played and I personally loved it. We invited him for our promotions that very night and landed this interview a short time after. Please read our interview with Mike below.

Interview with Kevin Burdick @kevin_burdick

In this edition of Road Trip we had the good fortune to do an interview with the multi-talented Kevin Burdick. His talents range from actor to philosopher and of course, one of the main reasons we are here is due in part to great musicianship and songwriting!
Bio excerpt:
In the musical spirit of Elton John and Billy Joel arrives piano sensation, Kevin Burdick. His unique blend of reality and piano rock is sure to inspire you, as it has thousands of others all around the globe. In 2006, Cingular Wireless selected Kevin as on of the top emerging artists on MySpace and turned one of his songs, “She Does Her Crying Alone” into a downloadable ring tone. “Robbie’s Song” from his 2005 Release True Stories and other fairy tales burned up the Independent and College Radio Charts, breaking the top 1000 and resting as high as 313 (un-weighted, August 2006). "

Thank you Kevin for taking the time to do this interview with us! So now, without further ado, let's get to it, here is our interview with Kevin Burdick.

Interview with T Dawn Music @tdawn1

On Road Trip we have T Dawn who is a hard working composer, singer/songwriter from Riverside, CA that we met on Twitter some time ago and we are just now getting around to interviewing her. She lists her influences are Cheryl Crow, Stevie Nicks, Tori Amos, Imogen Heap. Her music ranges in Alternative / Progressive Rock / Indie Rock

You have a new band "Traces of Dawn", tell us who they are and how it happened.

That is correct, “Traces of Dawn” will be the new band name. I am so excited for people to hear the new music, it’s different for me…but my trademark style will be all over it. That is pretty much how I came up with the name of the band. After collaborating with several artists and building up my confidence I realized it was time to branch out and start forming a band of my own. We are not a big band, but we have a big sound! I have Justin Gummow to thank for that. Justin has worked with me from time to time on music. He actually assisted me with my song “Mental Breakdown” when I first started out, so it is no surprise that we are now working together on a regular basis. He brings to the table many things. He has a great sense of music style. He is a multi-talented musician who is very capable of playing the guitar, bass and drums. Justin won the Guitar Center store drum off finals and he has played drums for metal group named “Helsot” which has been recently signed to a label. I think our fans “Starlights” will notice a big difference in the music production.

Interview with Country Music Star - Mary Sarah

We have been trying to land an interview with Mary Sarah for awhile now but she is a rather busy youngster these days. She had a moment to spend some time to do this interview with us. Thank you Mary! We will start with an excerpt from her bio page:

Mary Sarah
Turning 16 this summer!!! WooHoo! Seems like I waited an eternity for this day to come around. Am I excited about driving…anyone that knows me would say a big fat YES! I have been carefully looking at all kinds of cars for over a year now. My hearts desire would be to have one without a lid! You know…a convertible of any kind! Not sure that is practical right out the starting gate but hey…I am a dreamer. How about the new 2012 Beatles…sure wish I would have been old enough to go on Oprah last Christmas…she gave everyone in the audience one!

And now on to the interview!

Red Dragon Records Interview

This time on Road Trip we are interviewing a indie label we met on Twitter who seemed to be doing great things and was gaining ground fast. We have since then joined forces to help the ever so deserving independent musicians out there.
How did you come to be Red Dragon Records?

Red Dragon Records Logo
I spend a lot of time socialising in and around the south coast of the UK and constantly came across what i believe to be exceptional talent. These talented people were unlikely to ever get much further than a few gigs, not through any fault of there own but just down to the odds of being picked by a label (and that is assuming of course that the label does anything with them!). Whilst there are some artists out there who know how to self promote many don't or won't, these are the people we are here for. The artist that actually tipped the scales for me was Boudicca, an excellent and very passionate singer who I believe in immensely. She has always wanted to be recognized for her voice and I believed with my background in establishing business's that I could build a record label and showcase her talent. So I did, and the label rapidly grew from there gaining more acts and more contacts and will hopefully continue for a long time yet!
